Focus Lab
Focus is a skill you can train, not something you either have or don't. Choose your path, practise in small bursts, and build the ability to start, stay, and finish even when it feels hard.
Your focus journey
First Week
Everything feels clunky. You're not sure if it's working. Your brain resists. This is normal — you're building something new.
Weeks 2-3
You notice something shifting. Tasks that felt impossible now feel manageable. You catch yourself focusing without trying so hard.
Week 4 onwards
Focus becomes part of who you are. People notice. You're not "someone who can't focus" anymore — you're someone who knows how to train it.
How's your focus energy right now?
Pick how you're feeling and we'll suggest the best activities. Everyone experiences these feelings when they're building their focus skills. It's important to keep going — it gets easier.
Focus is made of three skills
These aren't magical — they're skills anyone can train. Click each card to discover the science behind it.
Every expert was once a beginner. You're already building something amazing.
Start
Breaking through resistance to begin, even when you don't feel like it.
Your brain's "starting friction" drops after just 2 minutes of work. The first 120 seconds are always the hardest. Then, momentum takes over. Quick Start activities get you past the resistance peak.
Stay
Keeping attention on one thing even when your mind wants to wander.
Your prefrontal cortex (your focus muscle) gets stronger with practice. Each time you notice distraction and return to task, you're literally building brain connections. It's not willpower, it's reps.
Finish
Closing the loop and feeling the win. This builds confidence for next time.
Completing tasks releases dopamine, which motivates your brain to repeat the behavior. Done beats perfect. Your brain rewards completion, not perfection. One small win creates momentum for the next.

Choose Your Focus Path
Select the challenge that matches where you are today
Each focus profile has 9 scientifically-designed activities to help you build exactly the skill you need right now.
Quick Start
When you're avoiding, overwhelmed, or just can't begin
Tiny bursts (2-5 minutes) that trick your brain into starting. Once you begin, momentum takes over.
📈 What you'll improve:
Deep Focus
When you want to really concentrate on something
Longer blocks (10-15 minutes) with clear structure. Train yourself to stay with difficulty without switching away.
🎯 What you'll improve:
Calm Focus
When you're anxious, frustrated, or emotionally wound up
Calm your nervous system first, then focus. You can't concentrate when your brain thinks you're in danger.
😌 What you'll improve:
Confidence Builder
When you're a perfectionist or scared of getting it wrong
Small, finishable tasks where done matters more than perfect. Prove to yourself you can complete things.
⭐ What you'll improve:
🎡 Focus Activity Roulette
Can’t decide what to try?
Spin for a random focus activity! Perfect when you’re not sure what you need.
How it works: The wheel will spin for 5 seconds, then land on an activity. A popup will appear with instructions and a timer.
Having a rough focus day?
That's totally normal. Here's what to do when focus feels impossible.
Do less, not nothing
- Some days your focus tank is empty
- On those days, the goal isn't to be productive — it's to show up
- Even just 2 minutes of effort counts as a win
- The real skill is showing up when it feels hard
- Pick the tiniest task you can do and finish it
- Celebrate that. Tomorrow you'll do more
Calm before focus
- Your nervous system needs to settle first
- You can't focus when your brain thinks it's in danger
- Before you try to work, take a few minutes to calm down
- Breathe slowly. Ground yourself. Feel safe
- Then when your nervous system is settled, focus becomes possible again
- This isn't wasting time — this is setting yourself up to succeed
Come back tomorrow
- Your nervous system needs to settle first - you can't focus when your brain thinks it's in danger
- One bad day doesn't define you. What matters is that you come back
- Focus is built through consistency, not perfection
- If today was rough, that's okay. That's actually how growth works
- Bad days teach you more than good ones. Tomorrow, you'll try again
Your Focus Journey
You're in control — this is your plan. Focus is a skill you build, not a test you pass.
What would you like to work towards?
This is your personal goal, not a task list. Keep it simple, one clear direction.
You can adjust this at any time. Progress over perfection.
Optional time window
These dates help your Dashboard show progress, but you can leave them blank.
Mini tip: Make it measurable and kind. You're building a skill, not checking boxes.
Notes (optional)
Use this to write a quick plan, obstacles to expect, or a tiny “if‑then” rule (e.g. “If I get stuck, I’ll do 2 minutes.”).
